The fundamentals

Modes

PvE is split into two parts. No matter what you decide to begin with, there are certain basics you have to understand.

There are two modes of PvE "Situations" in which you are able to improve your skills through live-fire exercises, as well as "Terrorist Hunt", where you work with friends to defuse high threat situations and neutralise AI targets.

PvP is based on tactical 5-v-5 team game. It is a great option in many different situations in which Red and Blue Team face off to save hostages, or defuse bombs.

Attack and defense

All playable Operators can be divided into two types that are Defenders and Attackers. Each type has a specific job and you'll have to be aware of both.

As the name implies, attackers are the siege force charged with breaching, clearing and securing the area of attack. Their equipment is tuned to make this happen and comes with a supply of ballistics equipment, equipment for reconnaissance and weapons for crowd control as well as other tools.

Defenders have to impede the goal by securing the entrances to the building and securing important locations across the map. Additionally, their equipment includes armor and medic abilities to ensure allies are safe and gather intelligence and denial tools to stop enemies' reconnaissance.

Which one should I begin with?

It all depends on the game you play. What do you prefer an armored juggernaut or an expert tactician? Do you prefer to attack or defend? These are the kinds of questions you should begin with, and then you can go from there.

All Operators possess a balance of agility and armor. The more of one more, the more effective. And every gadget is unique to the Operator: remote drones for scouting, resuscitation aids for reviving your friends or a massive tool to

cook in doors.

You can try out gadgets and customize weapons to see what works best for you. The roster of Operators is growing rapidly so whatever your style there is an Operator that suits you.

Learning your surroundings

Rainbow Six Siege boasts a vast array of maps, and there are no two identical, with different scales the design, layout, and even the time of day. Every map presents a distinct task, from gorgeous suburban homes to consulates

that are surrounded by a horde of soldiers.

Making an entrance

The game's destructible environment adds more complexity to the game's strategies. Ballistics can demolish entire walls and floors, or smash them using sledgehammers. Gunfire is also utilized to test peepholes against the walls.

There's no safe location and there's a slim chances that you'll look at the same map twice.

Digging in

Blast-proof shutters can be used to strengthen windows, doors and hatches used by defense. If you're part of the attacking team, don't be surprised to find your most-loved breaching point blocked by a bulletproof bulwark.

From above or below

Nearly every place has multiple points of access and egress, which permits attackers to get in through basements and traps, or elude down from roofs, before opening windows or skylights. Surprise is a potent weapon. Keep an eye on the ceilings and floors.
